Your first assessment is not a test you can fail
Most people picture their first session as a fitness exam: get weighed, get measured, get told what's wrong with them. No wonder it feels intimidating to walk in.
At Fitcom, the first assessment is not that. It's a conversation, then a movement check, done together with your coach so they know how to actually build your programme. You're not being graded. You're being understood.
If you've never trained before, or you've quit a few times already, that changes nothing about how this session goes. Your coach isn't comparing you to anyone else in the room.
Before anything physical, your coach asks about your life
Your coach sits down with you first, before any movement happens. This part covers four things:
- Your goal, specifically. Not "lose weight" but what changes because of it: fitting into old jeans, keeping up with your kids, walking up the stairs at work without getting winded.
- Your actual week. Work hours, commute, sleep, family pulls. Someone doing shift work needs a different plan than someone at a desk from 9 to 6, and your coach needs to know which one you are.
- Your history. Old injuries, past attempts, what didn't work before. Your coach asks so they don't repeat what already failed you, not to judge the previous attempts.
- Where your head is at. Excited, nervous, both. What's derailed training for you before. This is the part people expect least, and it's often the one that matters most for whether the plan actually sticks.
The movement screening is collaborative, not a pass or fail
Once your coach understands your goal and your life, they'll walk you through a few basic movement patterns, things like a squat, a hinge, a push, a pull. No fancy equipment, no judgment on how it looks.
Your coach demos it first. Then it's your turn, moving however feels natural to you. They're watching for how your body actually moves right now, not comparing you against a standard. If one side feels tighter or a movement feels off, your coach will say so plainly and explain what it means for your programme, not "you're doing it wrong."
You're allowed to ask questions the whole way through. "Why does this feel harder on my left?" or "Is this normal?" are exactly the kind of questions this session exists to answer.
You leave with a plan, not just an impression
At the end, your coach walks you through what they found in plain language: your current strengths, what to build first, and how that connects to the goal you told them at the start.
Fitcom's Fitness Trial 2.0 covers this across two sessions within seven days, RM 250: the assessment first, then a real coached session so you feel what training with a Fitcom coach is actually like, not just talk about it. The written plan from your assessment is yours to keep either way.
Muay Thai has its own separate trial class at RM 99, one session, same idea: come see what it's actually like before deciding anything.
The only thing you need to bring is honesty
You don't need to get fit before your assessment, warm up beforehand, or rehearse your goals into a tidy sentence. Wear sportswear and shoes, bring a towel and water bottle, and answer the questions as honestly as you can. The more accurate the picture your coach gets, the better the plan that comes out of it.
If you've been putting this off because the idea of being assessed feels uncomfortable, that discomfort usually disappears in the first five minutes of actually sitting down with a coach. Book your Fitness Trial 2.0 and find out what your coach sees.
- The assessment is a conversation first: your goal, your weekly life, your training history, your mindset.

- You keep the written plan from your assessment either way.
